EDN Announces its first Atelier in 2023 "Dancing on the Edge: Peripheral Practices"

The Atelier will take place on 9 and 10 February 2023 during the What Next Dance Festival in Limerick

The Atelier is hosted by Dance Ireland and Dance Limerick and will take place on 9 and 10 February 2023 during the What Next Dance Festival in Limerick.

EDN Campaign 2022 Final Document Released

Endorsed by all of its 48 members from 28 European countries, the European Dancehose Network releases the EDN Campaign 2022 document.

EDN campaign presents concrete actions and ideas to engage the contemporary dance sector in Europe, its advocates, funders and stakeholders, in a shared movement towards a sustainable future.

EDN Releases the Publication "Environmental Sustainability in Contemporary Dance: Emerging Issues, Practices and Recommendations."

Commissioned research publication examines the relationship between environmental sustainability and contemporary dance, with a particular focus on the role of dance production centres.

The publication provides the context, references and examples of where and how dance intersects with environmental sustainability, and which set of actions can lead to effective action. Both executive summary and full publication are available for download.

EDN Conference 2022: a Short Summary

More than 400 registered participants from 49 different countries worldwide.

EDN's annual online conference brought together artists, dance practitioners and researchers to discuss environmental sustainability in the context of contemporary dance.

Perform Europe's Documentary Published

The documentary was shot in June 2022 during the Perform Europe’s Impact Event.

With contributions from 19 Perform Europe's partnerships, consortium and jury members, the consortium consisted of IETM - International network for contemporary performing arts, the European Festivals Association (EFA), Circostrada Network, European Dancehouse Network and IDEA Consult created the Perform Europe’s Documentary, which aims to reflect and unravel the impact that taking part in the Perform Europe pilot had on the partnerships and the communities to which they toured, as well as look behind the scenes at the Perform Europe journey and selection process.

Dansens Hus Oslo Will Host the Next Edition of Ice Hot Platform

Ice Hot will be held in Oslo between 14–18 February 2024.

Seventh edition will continue presenting both emerging and established names of Nordic contemporary dance and choreography.

Join the EDN Conference "How Can We Move"

EDN is organizing an online conference to which artists, cultural practitioners, academics, and local and international policy makers are invited. The internationale tanzmesse nrw is organised by nrw landesbuero tanz and is the largest professional meeting for contemporary dance. As a forum for exchange, knowledge transfer and networking, the Tanzmesse is an important meeting place for international dance creators. 

Soft Skills in Dance Digital Guidebook

Resource for professionals developed within the the project Empowering Dance - The Soft Skills Teaching and Learning Approach

Digital guidebook "Soft Skills in Dance" supports dance practitioners in reflecting on their own practice, with regard to soft skills. The guidebook was developed by seven European partners and their teams, including EDN members CSC - Centro per la Scena Contemporanea (Bassano del Grappa, Italy), Dansateliers (Rotterdam, Netherlands), HIPP - Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance (Zagreb, Croatia), K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg / Kampnagel (Germany) and La Briqueterie CDCN of Val-de-Marne (Vitry-sur-Seine, France).

EDN Carte Blanche Artist Exchange

The exchange of artistic practices in Bassano del Grappa

Between August 18-21, 2022, CSC Bassano del Grappa will host the Carte Blanche Artist Exchange. EDN members are invited to register for participation and travel support of their associated artists, producers and programmers.

'The Green Room', a Cologne-based center for artistically-oriented support for the psychosocial and physical health of performing artists, announces residency for Ukrainian dancers and movement teachers in Cologne (DE) between July 18-24, 2022.

EDN Atelier: Tools for Transformation

Atelier held in Dresden between July 7-8, 2022 is open to both EDN members and other international participants.

The event will take place at HELLERAU European Center for the Arts, Dresden and will include workshops, lectures, working groups, networking and performances. Registration deadline is June 15, 2022.

Since December 2020, Perform Europe, co-managed by a Consortium of four performing arts networks and a consultancy organisation, has been designing new models and sustainable practices for performing arts touring and distribution across Creative Europe from the bottom-up. Today, we are launching the Perform Europe Live programme of more than 45 artistic works and over 250 presentations from 19 Perform Europe partnerships.

EDN announces new members

On Annual General Assembly in June 2021, EDN members have unanimously accepted Lithuanian Dance Information Centre and AREAL | space for choreographic development as new members of our network.

EDN co-signed the Joint Letter to the EU-US Summit to Support Cultural Relations

More than 100 organisations have signed the letter, which calls for a reduction of obstacles to obtaining visas and work permits in order to support greater cultural exchange between the EU and US.

Korzo theater and Le Gymnase CDCN are new EDN members

EDN now with 48 members in 27 European countries.

During the General Assembly held in Barcelona at the end of June 2022, Korzo theater (The Netherlands) and Le Gymnase CDCN were unanimously voted in as new members of the European Dancehouse Network.

EDNext Travel Bursaries

Thanks to the Network strand of the Creative Europe funding, the European Dancehouse Network is able to administer a limited amount of travel bursaries to members and their associates who attend EDN activities.
