The European Dancehouse Network continues its EU-funded EDNext 2022-2024 programme with the theme of equity explored through activities co-organised and hosted by EDN members in 2023.

Kino Šiška Announces CoFestival 2022

The 11th edition of the International Festival of Contemporary Dance will be held in Ljubljana from 25 November to 1 December 2022.

The festival also offers a discursive programme with talks, book presentations, a film program, and the release of a new publication to mark the tenth anniversary of the festival.

CultureForHealth Report Available

The findings of over 300 scientific studies and 500+ projects that show art and culture’s contribution to health and wellbeing.

CultureForHealth project presents review of culture, well-being and health interventions and their evidence, impacts, challenges and policy recommendations for Europe.

Le Gymnase CDCN with Forever Young Festival

France’s first dance festival for young audiences.

First held in 2006, the first French dance festival for young audiences (formerly Les Petits Pas Festival) will take place between 15 November and 10 December 2022.

EDN Releases the Publication "Environmental Sustainability in Contemporary Dance: Emerging Issues, Practices and Recommendations."

Commissioned research publication examines the relationship between environmental sustainability and contemporary dance, with a particular focus on the role of dance production centres.

The publication provides the context, references and examples of where and how dance intersects with environmental sustainability, and which set of actions can lead to effective action. Both executive summary and full publication are available for download.

EDN Campaign 2022 Final Document Released

Endorsed by all of its 48 members from 28 European countries, the European Dancehose Network releases the EDN Campaign 2022 document.

EDN campaign presents concrete actions and ideas to engage the contemporary dance sector in Europe, its advocates, funders and stakeholders, in a shared movement towards a sustainable future.

Join the EDN Conference "How Can We Move"

Online conference will take place on 14 November 2022, registration open until 10 November.

EDN is organizing an online conference to which artists, cultural practitioners, academics, and local and international policy makers are invited. Station Service for Contemporary Dance Organises Kondenz Festival

15th edition of Kondenz - Festival of Contemporary Dance and Performance will take place from 23-30 2022 October in Belgrade

Kondenz is a festival of contemporary dance and performance that has practiced collaborative curation and alternative production models for 15 years. It is also the site for Balkan collaborations through the Nomad Dance Academy network and its (Non)Aligned Movements project. Kondenz supports European dance encounters shaped by networks such as apap - Feminist Futures and Dance On, Pass On, Dream On.

Tanssin talo with First SPARKS Project's Premiere

SPARKS is an artistic development project of Tanssin talo, which will be carried out in 2019–2023.

Tanssin talo announces the first premieres in the framework of their SPARKS project. The rest SPARKS works will be seen later in Dance House Helsinki in spring and autumn 2023.

First digital series of events organized by the cross-national Network Dance for Young Audience – Explore Dance.

KLAP Announces Question de danse Festival and En compagnie de Bagouet

KLAP Maison pour la danse with two festivals in October 2022

Since 2006, the Question de danse festival has allowed the discovery of choreographic projects in progress. With En compagnie de Bagouet, Michel Kelemenis pays tribute to the French choreographer and dancer Dominique Bagouet. Both events will take place between 7 October - 9 December 2022.

Soft Skills in Dance Digital Guidebook

Resource for professionals developed within the the project Empowering Dance - The Soft Skills Teaching and Learning Approach

Digital guidebook "Soft Skills in Dance" supports dance practitioners in reflecting on their own practice, with regard to soft skills. The guidebook was developed by seven European partners and their teams, including EDN members CSC - Centro per la Scena Contemporanea (Bassano del Grappa, Italy), Dansateliers (Rotterdam, Netherlands), HIPP - Croatian Institute for Movement and Dance (Zagreb, Croatia), K3 | Tanzplan Hamburg / Kampnagel (Germany) and La Briqueterie CDCN of Val-de-Marne (Vitry-sur-Seine, France).

EDN co-signed the Joint Letter to the EU-US Summit to Support Cultural Relations

More than 100 organisations have signed the letter, which calls for a reduction of obstacles to obtaining visas and work permits in order to support greater cultural exchange between the EU and US.

Perform Europe’s call for international touring and distribution grants is now open

The applications for step 1 are open until 7 July at 23:59 CEST on the Perform Europe Digital Platform.

This call is open to all performing arts producers (organisations, companies, artists, collectives) and presenters (venues, festivals and any type of organisation offering a presenting context) based in all the Creative Europe countries and in the UK. We are particularly trying to reach out to all the professionals who belong / feel like they belong to an underrepresented group within the performing arts landscape.

Perform Europe's Documentary Published

The documentary was shot in June 2022 during the Perform Europe’s Impact Event.

With contributions from 19 Perform Europe's partnerships, consortium and jury members, the consortium consisted of IETM - International network for contemporary performing arts, the European Festivals Association (EFA), Circostrada Network, European Dancehouse Network and IDEA Consult created the Perform Europe’s Documentary, which aims to reflect and unravel the impact that taking part in the Perform Europe pilot had on the partnerships and the communities to which they toured, as well as look behind the scenes at the Perform Europe journey and selection process.
