With triangular connections between Africa, Latin America and Europe, Africa Moment aims to create spaces for creation and thinking through the body to contribute to the positioning of African creation and its diaspora in the national and international scene and to transform the performing arts sector towards diversity and inclusion on a transversal level.
The VI International Live Arts Gathering Africa Moment'22 will take place in Barcelona and Terrassa from 21 November to 14 December and will feature an interdisciplinary avant-garde programme, a training programme for professional artists and a digital space with content from around the world, as well as a creative residency programme, new productions and artistic scholarships. For the first time, the sixth edition will introduce the AM22PRO section, exclusively for industry professionals.
This event is promoted by the association Africa Moment, founded by Cameroonian bioarchitect Angel Fulla. This year, the festival presents the show Kolochi Baw by Cia Aïda Colmenero Dïaz and Smeer by Trixie Munyama. The Mercat incorporates the piece Cheered Lies by Mozambican choreographer Panaíbra Gabriel Canda into the festival.
