The German Dance Platform: a roaming biennal coming back to Munich for the first time in over 20 years
The GERMAN DANCE PLATFORM sees itself as a forum to present recent developments and innovative currents in German contemporary dance. It offers an overview and a presentation platform for the most remarkable positions of present- day creation in the fields of domestic dance and choreographic performance. The selection of pieces is made by a jury that is elected for each edition respectively.
The event is directed towards guests from Germany and abroad, organizers of culture, the expert press and an interested local audience. Given its special relevance as a meeting point of the international scene of curators and also its general attraction for the public, it is often compared to the Berliner Theatertreffen.
Performances, networks, meetings - a full programme in Munich
The GERMAN DANCE PLATFORM 2020 program lets Munich audiences as well as experts discover surprising and exciting dance. 15 pieces were selected to be presented to national and international audiences attending the German Dance Platform.
Additionally, a programme for professionals will take place to emphasis the possibilities to meet, exchange perspectives and discuss developments of the sector.
EDN and its members are currently developing a session on international collaboration in the dance sector, which will take place on 6th of March. More information should follow soon.

EDN Panel on shared perspectives from Europe and Asia
The European Dancehouse Network (EDN), the Asian Network for Dance AND+ and the Tanzplattform Deutschland are joining forces to present policies and practices of international cultural cooperation in the dance sector. EDN and AND+ will exchange perspectives from Europe and Asia on the development of contemporary dance, shared themes and approaches as well as common challenges.
From European cultural policies to further connections and projects between EDN and AND+, this event is an opportunity to strengthen our relations to/with Asia and beyond; action which takes place in the context of the international development of the sector and European cultural policy.
