From 20 March 2020, Moving Futures will travel to nine cities and bring innovative dance to the theatre in various Dutch neighbourhoods.

A unique festival
Moving Futures is an initiative of five (talent)developers in contemporary dance – Dansmakers Amsterdam (EDN member), Dansateliers Rotterdam (EDN member), DansBrabant Tilburg (EDN member), Random Collision Groningen and Generale Oost Arnhem. By creating a nationally widespread network and by joining forces with local theatres and partners, the dance houses try to create more exposure possibilities for the work of emerging choreographers on a national scale.
About the 2020 edition
From 20 March 2020, Moving Futures will travel to nine cities and bring innovative dance to the theatre in Dutch neighbourhoods. Be surprised by the passionate, cheeky and barrier-breaking dance makers and performers of today. See how the future moves them and how they move the future. In presentations, pop-up performances, installations, workshops, dance films and parties, the audience will experience dance from all perspectives.
This sixth edition pays tribute to hope, not as naive trust but as an energetic look ahead. The hope of a new generation of boundless and fearless makers.
Two EDN Ateliers will coincide with the Moving Futures Festival:
Important: The Rotterdam & Arnhem edition of Moving Futures Festival is cancelled. These editions were planned from March 20-22 in Theater Rotterdam – Location Schouwburg and in the Pauluskerk, and in Arnhem from March 25 – 27 in Stadstheater and Theater aan de Rijn. In line with the guide lines of the government at this point in time, all performances are cancelled for now until the end of the month of March.
