#DanceAndWellBeing Campaign
EDN, together with its members, initiated the #DanceAndWellBeing campaign as the reaction to the restrictions in practicing, rehearsing and presenting dance across Europe that have represented yet another blow to the dance sector.
Between November 2020 and February 2021, 17 weekly online dance classes led by EDN members associated artists took place on Zoom. Participation on dance clasess was free of charge and no prior dancing skills were required.
In 2019, World Health Organisation Regional Office for Europe published the study What is the evidence on the role of the arts in improving health and well-being? A scoping review. A key conclusion of the report analysing the evidence from over 900 global publications was that engaging with the arts can be beneficial for both mental and physical health.
