Stary Browar Nowy Taniec is a multilevel dance programme run by Art Stations Foundation at Stary Browar Art Center in Poznań, Poland. The main mission and goal of the programme is to strongly support the development of Polish choreography.

Guiding principles

With its general interest in art of choreography, its creative process as well as in wider discussion on its history, theory and future, programme Stary Browar Nowy Taniec makes Stary Browar a creation space where conscious, open-minded and adventurous dance audiences become challenging partners for contemporary (not only young) choreographers – a unique spot on the map of Polish dance.

History

Stary Browar was created to popularise, promote and present to local audiences the art of contemporary choreography (especially its avant-garde trends). It is the first regular dance space in Poland; a meeting point of international dance community and Polish artists and a platform of artistic dialogue, research, creation and choreographic reflection. Following the mission of the project and next to presentations of both renowned and young international works, from the very beginning Stary Browar Nowy Taniec constantly supports young Polish dance artists succeeding in introducing to the Polish scene a whole new generation of ambitious and talented dance creators.
