About

Throughout the two days (9-10 February 2023) participants will explore, through discussion and practice, what it means to be on the periphery; geographically, culturally and socially through the lens of creative, community and curatorial dance practices.

We invite artists, programmers, curators and cultural policy makers to join us in exchanging knowledge and models of practice; asking how the periphery can become the centre; how this could inform creative dialogue with communities and artists, and how we can produce and present work that is rooted locally and connected internationally.

How to participate with EDN travel support?

EDN will reimburse a fixed amount of travel contribution (calculated here), 3 per diems at 30€ per day, book and cover three nights of accommodation for up to 7 participants. Priority will be given to EDN members and their associates. Participation fee of 150€ will be invoiced to the participant or their dancehouse/ organisation.

EDN members are invited to respond to the Travel Bursaries Open Call on behalf of their associated artists and other freelance professionals.

Please book your travel upon confirmation from the EDN office. 

How to participate without EDN travel support?

Up to 9 further participants can join the Atelier without receiving travel support. These participants will have to book and cover travel and accommodation individually.

Travelling to Limerick

If coming from the UK, there are flights into Shannon Airport from London, Edinburgh, and Manchester. 

There is a Bus Éireann bus service into Limerick City– approx. 35 mins. 

Or taxi which will cost approx. 45€-50€. 

If coming from Europe, the easiest way to get to Limerick is to fly into Dublin Airport and take a direct bus from Dublin Airport to Limerick City.

Dublin Coach has a regular service see. Final Destination is Arthur’s Quay with a change at Red Cow Luas Stop – same stop. Duration: 3 hours, cost 30€ return. 

Citylink also has a direct service every 2 hours. Destination Arthur’s Quay. Duration 2.5 hours, cost 50€ return.
